The Ukrainian jazz singer LAURA MARTI is now actively preparing for the release of the new solo album "SHINE". From the new project, songs and videos for the song have already been presented: I Want You To Hear Me, Hostage.
The project is based on topical Ukrainian author music.
This year LAURA MARTI presented "SHINE" on the Main Stage of the Koktebel Jazz Festival
For the first time, "SHINE" was presented at the Equi Jazz Fest in Kyiv before the performance of Chick Corea TRIO (Avishai Cohen, Marcus Gilmore).
The program is sustained in some jazz traditions and yet will open its borders to a wider audience.
According to LAURA MARTI:
"I really like singing Brazilian music, Armenian authentic, classical jazz, ethno jazz, as evidenced by my previous albums." When creating the project "SHINE" I wanted to open myself on one side, letting myself pop, soul, funk and even a little bit of a year , I have to go through the electronics in general.In general, I was in the first place from the song and added to it only what is needed. Almost all the texts on the content are a conversation with their inner self, with people who pass through all your life, and of course , with the higher forces that are above us and inside us. It seems to me ba think about who you are and what you send to the world. "
The project brought together some of the best Ukrainian jazz musicians. Including the string quartet NewTone, which enriched the sound with elegance and sensuality.
This month LAURA MARTI presented a video for the song Hostage.
The song is autobiographical. LAURA MARTI is the author of words and music.
The idea is close to each of us: let go of the past, go ahead and leave memories, turning page, open new door and try again to be happy.
